Led by Laura Gibbs, Maha Bali, and Mia Zamora

MYFest22 has been a wonderful and winding journey, and each of you has had different experiences along the way.  In the final few weeks of this Mid-Year Festival, we invite you to share your highlights, takeaways, reflections, and insights from the experience.  Please join in, whether you have had just a brief encounter or if you have joined multiple sessions of MYFest22.

The reflection prompts you will find below are intended to inspire “ripples” of hope, healing, and rejuvenation as you move forward into August, which for many of us will be a busy time of transition and new beginnings. There will be a kickoff session to get us started on Monday, August 1… but no worries if you cannot attend; this track is based on a create-and-connect process that can take place at any time.

Then, after MYFest concludes, we will be co-creating a collection of artifacts that collectively represent MYFest22, and that process will carry on in September and beyond. Ultimately, there are various products that might emerge from this track. For example, we might come up with a collaborative autoethnography, a creative writing anthology, and/or an academic publication. So, come along and explore, and we’ll see what starts to take shape together.

MYFest Curation: Reflections & Ripples

There is already a growing list of Curation Prompts to inspire you (with kudos to Heather Kretschmer for getting us started). This is an editable document, so please feel free to add your own prompts to the collection too. You will also find information there about the MYFest Reflections website, where you can publish your contributions if you want (including anonymous posts): https://reflect.equityunbound.org.

If you would like to receive a “daily curation prompt” by email each day for the first half of August, you can sign up for that here: https://bit.ly/myfest22curate.

Thanks in advance for sharing your MYFest experiences back with the MYFest community!

Curation Reflections and Ripples Kickoff Session

In this 1-hour session, we’ll introduce the MYFest curation prompts and explore the MYFest Reflections space (thank you, Alan Levine, for the SPLOT magic!). Together, we’ll do a MYFest Curation activity, with time to both create and share. There will also be time for your feedback, so you can let us know what ways of reflecting would be most valuable to you and how we can help MYFest ripple outwards into your work and your communities going forward.

Monday, August 1, 4PM Cairo (10AM Eastern U.S.)
